NO MAKE-UP MOVEMENT
When Earle became Creative Director to Alicia Keys she was ready for a complete style update to accompany her take no prisoners album “Here”. Earle oversaw all Alicia’s print features and photography giving her a more modern look while still ensuring she looked her authentic self.
Earle’s concept for the album and all associated imagery was “naked”. The “No Make Up Movement” was hugely successful and a feminist cry that women should be completely themselves. It was celebrated everywhere and became a brave expression of female empowerment. Alicia’s first single “In Common” was the beginning of her audio visual take on the stripped down, reinvented, sexy tomboy look that Earle had created for her seen elsewhere on the site.
